Spanish Plural

In Spanish, a distinction is made between singular (singular) and plural (plural).
Generally applies in Spanish: A -s is appended to words ending in a vowel; a -es is appended to words ending in a consonant.

El libro Los libros
El coche Los coches

For words that end in a -n or -s after an accented vowel, the accent is omitted in plural formation.
El autobús – los autobuses the bus – the busses

Nouns ending in -s after an unstressed vowel remain unchanged in the plural.
El martes – los martesTuesday – Tuesdays

A -es is appended to nouns ending in or , which are emphasized.
El jabalí – los jabalíeswild boar – wild boars
El hindú – los hindúes the Hindu – the Hindus

If nouns end on another, emphasized vowel, a -s is appended in plural
El sofá – los sofássofa – sofas
El bebé – los bebésthe baby – the babies

Words ending in -z form the plural regularly with -es, but the z becomes a c.
El pez – los peces fish – fishes
Una vez – varias vecesonce – several times

Plural formation of foreign words is often irregular
El parking – los parkings – parking place – parking places
El club – los clubs/los clubes – the club – the clubs

Some nouns can have a second meaning in the plural
La letra –  the letter – las letras – the humanities

Some words do not form a plural in principle.
El dinero –  the money
La ecología – the ecology

Some nouns are mostly used in the plural, even if they designate only one object.
