DELE Preparation Course
The abbreviation D.E.L.E. stands for “Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera” and is an official diploma to prove Spanish language skills.
The D.E.L.E. certificate is awarded by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport and is recognised worldwide by companies and universities as a language certificate.
There are three levels of D.E.L.E. exams:
1. Certificado Inicial de Español (C.I.E.)
The first level is the basic level (Nivel Inicial). It is aimed at students with a basic knowledge of the Spanish language and serves as proof of basic knowledge of the Spanish language.
2. Diploma Básico de Español (D.B.E.)
The second level is the intermediate level (Nivel Intermedio). It is aimed at students who have a deeper knowledge of grammar and a wide (general) vocabulary. This exam serves as proof of a good general knowledge of the Spanish language.
3. Diploma Superior de Español (D.S.E.)
The third level is for highly advanced students (Nivel Superior) who have been in a Spanish-speaking country for a longer period of time and have a comprehensive knowledge of the Spanish language and regional cultural differences. This exam serves as proof of a sound knowledge of the Spanish language.
